what a fun day for our opener. I spent the day with the grooming crew but saw many friends in the parking lot and out on the trails. The trails had to all get Re groomed because we received another 3 inches last night. We groomed up until 1 pm trying to pack and freeze new km after we had the 30+ km ready for skiing. Full groom crew in the am to regroom the new snow. The new Popple flats and white pine are getting high grades
Friday night 7 pm.
what an exciting day of grooming! We spent most of the day grooming for our opener tommorow. I just came in with the Pisten Bully and the trails are looking good. They are freezing down well. We have a crew to finish the grooming in the early am hours. We plan to have River, Popple flats, Popple Climb, Memory, part of blueberry, meadow, cherry groomed for skating and classic tracks. We plan to have the hemlock, jack pine ,white pine, Deer trail and Jack’s flats tracked and the front part of tamarack….maybe more. That is about 30 km. There are a few slushy spots that should freeze tonight at 13 degrees, but the trail is well covered and I am expecting good early season conditions.
Friday 11 AM
The official count is 27 inches of snowfall. The Pisten Bully was out grooming along with 3 snowmobiles. We are grooming 30 or so km to be open for skiing Saturday at 9 AM .
