Rustic Cabins

Hemlock Cabin

For those looking for a rustic experience we have 5 rustic cabins on the trail. They are accessible only by skiing or snowshoeing only, not by walking in or driving in. There is no electricity or plumbing. There is a clean outhouse for each cabin with TP. The heat for the cabin is supplied by a very efficient wood stove which also has a flat cooking surface. The wood stove keeps the cabin very warm but it takes several hours to heat the cabin if it is cold out. The cabins have a sleeping area with mattresses but no bedding, and there is a table with chairs/benches. A tea kettle and fry pan are provided along with a charcoal grill, but no charcoal. Firewood is stocked in the adjacent woodshed & we send you out with a “firestarter” pack. Cabins are located in .3 km -1 km in from the trailhead. A sled is provided for hauling in gear to pull behind you as you ski out on the skating lanes. Water is available at the trailhead, bring your own container(s). If you are arriving after 5 PM let us know so we can leave supplies out for you. There is a designated area for parking for cabin people which allows us to plow the parking lot. A private sauna with hot shower is available for rent at the trail head from 1 PM to 6 PM by reservation $6/person for registered cabin guests only /$12 minimum, bring your towel and soap.

Rascals is the only dog-friendly cabin.
