Wednesday 5 pm

we had 3 groomers out this morning setting track and regrooming skate lanes. We kept one Groomer out till noon to try to keep up with the fresh snow. We picked up 4 inches of snow today…it was like a snow globe! 4-6 groomers heading out early in the morning to get the trails back in shape!

Tuesday 5;45 pm

Wully Bully and Snow Cross took care of the combination trails grooming the skate lanes, the new dusting of snow groomed up well and made nice corduroy. Tracks are still solid on combination Pisten Bully groomed trails. Tracks on single tracks are getting a bit worn except the sections rest yesterday. We plan to reset the classic only Wednesday or Thursday. Ridge Runner groomed up well today , thanks to Ken’s shoveling efforts on the wet areas. 3 groomers heading out early tomorrow to groom, 1-3 forecast during the mid day! The trail side Kaartunen House has open dates for dec 16-18 weekend, dec 19- 25, Jan 2-8, feb 20-26, feb 27-March 5. March 13-19.

Monday night 6 pm

what a great morning of grooming and what a great day of happy skiers.

pig heart and snow cross groomed all the skating and trimmed and shoveled any dirt spots that the Pisten bullies agitated. Tracks looked solid and used but not icy, skate lanes are wide and flat. Wide track and partner tracked hemlock jack pine white pine and froze down the puumala trails. Ken shoveled in wet and thin areas on the ridge, which is open.

then we all headed into the SISU trail packing and freezing the trail. It has great coverage.

3 groomers out again in the early morning working on grooming

Sunday 6 pm

We opened the bull pen and sent both Pisten Bullies out early morning. Crasher took care of the North end and Pig Heart took care of the South end, grooming all of the Highlands . Wide Track and Partner double teamed Tamarack 1 track to a 2 track …and groomed up windy ridge. Ken shoveled in many of the low spots on the ridge and will be back out tommorow.
wide track and partner will be packing more on puumala tomorrow, historic trail and Woodward to the SISU Finnish line. Pig heart and snow cross are touching up skate lanes and joining up with the wide track team.

skiing was great this weekend, we are skiing on 88 km of trail, 65 km are mint, we hope to have all 101 km groomed up for the weekend…..55 inches of snowfall to date!
