ABR Trails

We had a good turnout today for skiing and shopping. We regroomed about 35 km this morning  with (2) 7 foot Ginzu Groomers and had some good skiing for early season,

The snow is getting a bit used from skiers and we are going to close for Mon and Tuesday for Trail maintenance and massage. We plan to reopen for Wednesday and stay open thru the Thanksgiving weekend. The forecast snow for Tuesday night and Wednesday would drastically improve the trails conditions, but we had very positive reviews today and Saturday. Rustic cabins are open for the weekend along with the Hantala House and Everet’s Cabin.

 

We had better than expected skiing on 10 km of trails that was roller packed all morning and then Ginzu Groomer groomed. There was another inch or so of snow that fell on top but the skiing was reported to be very good for early season and fun to ski on.

We roller packed another 20 km of trails this afternoon and plan to let this freeze tonight as temps get down in the teens. We plan to regroom all 30 km in the AM and see what can be opened for Sunday. We have early season hours of 10-3 on Sunday. We are not sure what we are doing for Mon and Tuesday, we may close the trails for snow preservation for the Wednesday-Sunday period.

I am just coming in from grooming 1 pass on the main trails, about 10 km. The coverage is really OK for skiing, the snow is still soft so skiing will improve with time and temperature. We will open from 10-3 for skiing with early season ski conditions…not for your best skis, you could scratch them. We will have about 10 km groomed flat about 10 feet wide with no classic tracks. There is no deer hunting on the ABR Property.

I am heading out to groom up about 5-10 km of trails and see how it looks for skiing. It is still snowing and 25 degrees.

We will have the ski shop open from 10-3 and if the trails groom up OKwe will have skiing from 10 AM to 3 also

With the snow forecast for the weekend we are ready, the groomers and trails are waiting for snow. The SKi Shop sale will continue Saturday from 10-3 , if we receive the forecasted snow we will groom for the weekend.
