We took the day off from grooming today after 13 days straight of daily grooming. The trails skied well, there are no bare spots and good coverage. It did get warm today and we will have 2 groomers out in the AM.
Monday 7 PM
What a great of skiing and grooming. We groomed up 85 k this morning with both Pisten Bullies and 2 single track groomers. A sign the skiing was good today was that 3 out of 4 of the groomers were out skiing after grooming! (# 4 was working in the office on paper work and selling skis.)
The new snow really made skiing at mid winter conditions we are at 78 inches of snowfall. Looks like we will make our March 21 closing date. a few warm days but with the snowpack and cold nights we should be fine.
3 sets of 30 inch snowshoes for sale from our rentals $100. 1 set of 25 inch. The additional 12 sets will be sold after we close March 21. All rental skis are for sale now…some rental boots. Season passes on sale now, ski all of this year and all of next season. $130 or $110 for Jr and Sr.
Sunday 7 PM
We delayed the grooming crew of 4 groomers this morning until 9 AM this morning based on the forecast. We groomed about 75 km of trail with the crew. 2 classic only groomers were out at 11 AM, “Partner” and “Pig Heart” groomed till 4 PM. Bully’s are in their stalls in the Barn. We will all be out in the early AM. 8-10 inches of new snow arrived today! Looks like we are good now till closing date of March 21.
We are selling off our rental Tubbs snowshoes. There are a few weekday Rustic cabins open this week and next week, not weekends. What a great day of skiing today. Nice weather, good snow, happy skiers! Cousin Jason Slining doing his “Birkie” at ABR. By the way “Jason Park” is named after cousin Jason. We worked together in the woods cutting trails…5-10 years ago and one day we had lunch there on a beautiful fall day. Jason was leaned up against that tree behind him and he said ” I have a really nice office” as he looked around the woods sipping his coffee. That is a great memory .

4 groomers were out regrooming early this morning. We powertilled and retracked 84 km and the snow is in great shape.
