3 of us groomers had a good morning of grooming this morning and reminded skiers to stay in the wooded areas on the trails… the wind was filling in tracks in the open area.

We are heading back out in the morning to regroom some of the trails and plan to regroom most of the 101 k Saturday early AM.

Wednesday Feb 1st 7 pm

pig heart and snow cross groomed all the combination trails today with snowmobiles….touch up ‘grooming’ t`he skate lanes. Classic tracks are being reported as world class, we do not plan to regroom those until needed. Wide track and snow cross are teamed up in the morning for another touch up groom, pig heart is heading out to regroom the historic trails, the dog trails and a few others with the bigger Pisten bully.

Tuesday 4 pm

The trails skied well today! Sunny skies and fresh air and crisp tracks made for a great afternoon of skiing. Classic skiers enjoyed deep tracks with plenty of kick. The classic tracked ‘best line” Ridge Runner was a particular favorite the last few days. Ridge Runner will remain classic only until Saturday or Sunday morning. Snow Cross and Pig Heart are heading out to regroom the skate deck in the morning.

Sunday 5 pm

we had a nice calm weekend of skiing, the trails groomed up great Saturday morning. We groomed about 95 km and it skied well Saturday and Sunday. The Tamarack 2 track has been a favorite this weekend. Temps have dropped from the 20’s which we have been spoiled by but the single digits with low wind and sunshine are very skiable or snowshoe able. The tammarack 2 track is a favorite on cold days….ski to Jason park and light a fire, ski otter slide or wolf tracks or puumala trails all single track wooded out of the wind. Then back to Jason park warm up, have a snack and plan your route back. There are 3 warming cabins along the trails allow you to warm up and have a snack. The warm up cabins are stocked with firewood and the groomers drop off a kindling pack or 2 and matches for starting the fire. They also stock toilet paper for the outhouses. You need to start the fire if someone else hasn’t already and pack out your trash from your snack or lunch.
