Great skiing again today

The trails groomed up well again this morning. We are grooming with the Pisten Bully powertilling and running the front renovator since the snow is now old and hard. The result is a very fun and skiable surface and a classic track that can be skied with blue wax. This is a very costly and time consuming daily grooming process and eventually wears out the snow. Now midweek we will now groom with the smaller machines like the Alpina and Skandic and the new Ginzu groomers. These groomers will renovate the snow down about a 1/2 inch to an inch in the skate lanes. We will use the Pisten Bully as needed to keep  the trails in good shape.

Groomed up

The morning grooming routine shaped the trails back into very good skiing conditions. The Pisten Bully powertilled the wide trails and the Alpina and SWT ran the 2 new Ginzu Groomers on the classic only trails. Tracks and skate lanes turned out very good.

Back to Winter

Just coming in from powertilling with the Pisten Bully tonight, the cover is still very good after the 1 day thaw. The Pisten Bully smoothed out the trail and mixed up the snow. We plan to let the snow accumulate overnight and head out early AM with all 4 groomers. I expect Saturday to be quite good skiing on the majority of  the trails.

Temps are dropping

The temps are dropping and the trail is icing up. The groomers have been out this early morning and the skate lanes have been groomed but as the temps are now falling we are getting some icey areas on teh trails. We are open but not recomending skiing for the novice skiers today.

Some Rain

We had some light rain today but still had many happy skiers with the conditions. The trail remained pretty firm and very skiable.  All 60 km are open and we groomed about 35 km of skate and reset 20 km of tracks today or last night. We are open daily 9-5 including holidays. Don’t forget to register for the SISU Ski Fest, or Taste n Tour….. the price goes up Jan 1!
