We picked up a good dense 2 inches of snow last night and today. We groomed about 40 km of trails this morning and will regroom again in the AM. We are now grooming all 70 km of trails.
Sunday night
We had a nice weekend of skiing with a few highschool teams up enjoying the early season great snow conditions. We kept up on grooming for the weekend and the trails were fresh each morning. We will touch up groom during the week. and reset classic tracks as needed. We are now grooming all 70 km.
Saturday night
We had some primo (thats above excellent) conditions today. No it is not due to the hundreds of groomer hours or the 8 feet of snowfall this last month…..it is because the weather was 25 degrees and sunny with no wind and snow hanging on the trees.
The night shift is just coming in and the trails are looking awesome. The early morning shift is heading out to complete the trail grooming for Sunday skiing.
Friday night
The second shift is coming in and reporting super conditions. The groomers were out to the South on the Highlands and they are really shaping up. Classic only on the north are rated excellent and the classic only to the south are rating as good . The early morning shift of groomers will fine tune the main trails with the Pisten Bully. Remember these trails have been groomed as the snow fell since November 8th…that’s 4 weeks of grooming and 3- 1/2 weeks of Pisten Bully powertilling.
Skiing on 64 k of trails
We opened the Highlands today and tracked Wolf Tracks , Bear Bait, Sunrise and Otter Slide today. They are not rating the excellent that the other 40 km are getting but they are good to very good on ABR’s rating system. They have been packed for the last 3weeks but have not been groomed with the PB 20+ times like the main trails.
