Friday 1 PM

bards2The trails are groomed and ready for skiing on Saturday. The new snow and single digit temps overnight drastically improved the condition from yesterday. We were pleasantly surprised to groom 30 km this morning with mostly full depth classic tracks and groom 20 km for skating. You will find thin areas and some wet or ice areas but the trail is very well covered and is skiing very well for early season. We will be open for skiing at 9 AM.

Thursday 7:30 PM

bards“Game on” …the trails are freezing down and tonight’s grooming is starting to smooth the surface. I am not  sure how many km will be open, how many will be tracked, the track depth if available or wax to use… I am also not able to say if it is worth your while to drive 6 hrs to ski on Saturday or Sunday.  However we will have the best conditions that we can for you with the snow we have received and I think the skiers will be happy.  We are opening the trails Saturday at 9 AM, during our Ski Shop Sale.

Thursday 4 PM

About 8 inches of cold lake effect snow has fallen and temps have been in the low teens.  It continues to snow and we are heading back out to re-groom. We have been packing and grooming most of the day on the main trails and they are looking good. Our “intention is to open some of the trail system on Saturday. We will make the final decision after  we return from the trails tonight at 7 PM

Wednesday 8:30 PM

These are the hardest posts to write…..based on speculation. We have 20-30 km of trails that should ski well if we get the snow predicted tonight. We have been busy clearing the trails (after the last 14 inches of heavy wet bent down many small trees and limbs) and freezing down the base. We are ready for the new snow. We will groom it Thursday and hope to ski Friday or Saturday.

Don’t miss the big Ski Shop Sale this Saturday Nov 11,  10-3 PM  Ski equipment blow outs up to 60 % off  and clothing discounted up to 40 %….

Sunday 5 PM

Well it looks like the cold is back and should freeze up our existing snow on the trails. We have been clearing the fallen trees from the storm last week on a daily basis with a daily work crew. We have about 30 km of the 75 km cleared and ready to groom. We will continue to work on Jack Pine and Hemlock and the Highlands this week. It is a time consuming project but positive forward progress is being made. The frustrating part is that the trails were completely mowed and free of debris as of last week before the big storm….. We are not open as of yet for skiing or shopping, but we hope to be open soon for skiing and we will be OPEN for the big pre-season ski sale November 11th, 10 AM to 3 PM.
