Conditions today were reported to be about the same as yesterday, maybe slightly improved. Same groom team early this AM, Otter Hat and Pig Heart lightly texturizing the surface. Thin base of snow and no tracks but the base is ready for an inch or so of new snow. Looks like tomorrow during the day…and looks like a very big improvement on Wednesday with snows forecast. We are open daily including Holidays
Saturday 5 PM
We received a dusting of snow overnight. Otter Hat and Pig Heart groomed up about 20 km this morning and provided a real skiable surface. Skiers were very happy with the surface for early season. It was rated as much improved from the last 2 days. We plan to regroom in the early AM as we did this AM.
Friday 8 PM
Just coming in from checking trails. The main trails are still well covered with snow and a thin base. ….thin spots under the conifers as expected and thin spots where skiers snow plow on the 2 hills. We are hoping for the 1 inch forecast tonight to freshen up the trails. However we can refresh/texturize the trails in the early AM without new snow…but no classic tracks. we are grooming about 35-40 km for skiing. Classic rentals are available.
Thursday 8 PM
Just coming in from trail recon. Trails do not appear icy and are still snow covered w thin base 2 inches. We do not plan on regrooming in the AM ., We plan to regroom Saturday AM after the forecast 1-3 inches come. Skiers were happy today.
Dec 16th Wednesday 5 PM
We regroomed about 45 km of trails today, including many many of the trails to the south Tamarack 2 track 2 way and the Highlands.
The trails in old ABR, about 20 km are getting good reviews. The base is thin but skiers are out enjoying the thin base. The Highlands / south end is still closed until we got more snow for the 2 exit hills. We shoveled for several hours today to help fill in the base but need a few more inches of snow to open the Highlands
