Race Course

We marked  26 km with Blue Arrows for the Korte, and a  43 km course marked with red arrows for the Birkie. The course has blue directional arrow at the major intersections and km markers posted.  The k markers say  “American Birkenbeiner “ SISU Ski Fest ” (used for marking the Korte ), or “Prince Haakon”  The course is described as follows

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

43 K American Birkenbeiner course

The course is described as follows:    Start at the yellow start sign at the end of the parking lot, go down River Trail and complete River Trail all the way back to the end of the field, you are now at 4.7 k. Take Blueberry Bluffs to Bards Bump to  Hautanen Highlands to Coyote to Saari, then back on Coyote to Hautannen, to Bards to Blueberry, to Meadow back on Blueberry and down the hill to the Deer Trail and turn right you are at the 20 km mark , do the Deer Trail l  1 km loop and you are at 21km ….then  you need to go back the start  and repeat this entire loop then you will be at 42 km at the end of Deer Trail so do Deer Trail one more time for 43 k.

26 K  Kortetloppet

The course is described as follows:  Start at the yellow start sign at the end of the parking lot, go down River Trail and complete River Trail all the way back to the end of the field, you are now at 4.7 k. Take Blueberry Bluffs to Bards Bump to  Hautanen Highlands to Coyote to Saari, then back on Coyote to Hautannen, to Bards to Blueberry, to Meadow back on Blueberry and down the hill to the Deer Trail and turn right you are at the 20 km mark , do the Deer Trail l  1 km loop and you are at 21km ….then  you need to go back the start  and repeat the River Trail only, then you will be at 26km.

14 K Prince Haakon

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We marked a 14 km course with Green Arrows for Prince Haakon,

The course is described as follows: Start at the yellow start sign at the end of the parking lot, go down River Trail, do Popple Flats, Pit Point, Memory Lane, Sulos and come back on River and do Cherry Dairy and Deer Trail. There are no big hills in this course and it is marked with Green Arrows and K markers.

These are straightforward courses with no shortcuts or special connectors, just ski the trails the way they are marked and groomed. The Trail will always be a 12-14 foot wide trail with a classic track on the right, it will cross unmarked classic only trails that are 6-8 foot wide with classic tracks.

 

Race Support

You need to bring your own water and food, There will be a table at the end of the field to set bottles on.
