Rustic Cabins

Hemlock Cabin
For those looking for a rustic experience we have 5 rustic cabins on the trail. They are accessible only by skiing or snowshoeing but not by walking in or driving in. There is no electricity or plumbing. There is a clean outhouse for each cabin with TP. The heat for the cabin is supplied by a very efficient wood stove which also has a flat cooking surface. The wood stove keeps the cabin very warm but it takes several hours to heat the cabin if it is cold out. The cabins have a sleeping area with mattresses but not bedding, and there is a table with chairs/benches. A tea kettle and fry pan are provided along with a charcoal grill, but no charcoal. Firewood is stocked in the adjacent woodshed. We send you out with jugs of drinking water and a “firestarter” pack. Cabins are located in .3 km -1 km in from the trailhead. If you need a sled to pull behind you as you ski out on the skating lanes we have some to provide. If you are arriving after 5 PM let us know so we can leave supplies out for you. There is a designated area for parking for cabin people which allows us to plow the parking lot. A sauna with hot shower and towel/soap is available for rent at the trail head from noon to 6 PM by reservation $6/person.
