The new snow really groomed up well. Skiers are enjoying the April skiing.
Still cooler temps
We lost all of the snow, but the temps have been cool at night. Even though the winter was a bit shorter and milder we ran the 50 cord woodshed out of wood. We have been feeding the “DRAGON” (Central Boiler E-Classic energy effecient wood boiler) with wood we gather from other stockpiles of wood and are using the JD Gator on Camoplast Tracks.
Trans-Planting today
Today we had to fire up the wood boiler for some heat…it dropped down to 22 overnight…almost enough to dig out the long-johns. 
We spent the afternoon again transplanting wetland plants to the new wetlands.
This was our last scheduled day for skiing
Today was the day of our scheduled closing; it was such an abrupt end to winter. We have not seen another winter like this before. Thinking about gardening in late March? 
Angela and I have been picking up debris/litter/trash on our daily walks on the ski trails. The cross country skiers don’t leave much behind but enough to keep us limber bending and picking. Thank you for keeping our property as clean as you do, we appreciate it!

Wetlands work
I spent the afternoon with Ian, a botanist working on identifying wetland species in the wetlands. It was very interesting to work with a botanist a
nd I learned about some plant species. We also spent some time touring the trails and saw the River is down and the Ruffed Grouse and Ducks are active
