Wednesday 6 PM

Trails are skiing well with the temps in the 20 and a great base. Classic only tracks are showing wear and will be groomed in the early morning. Combination trails will be groomed depending on the amount of snow we receive tonight. Forecast calls for 1 inch.

Cancellation on the Jackson House for the weekend. it is available for this MLK weekend.

Tuesday night 6 PM

The temps warmed up today. A bit windy this morning but very nice this afternoon. The combination Pisten Bully groomed trails are perfect , classic only are showing some wear, we will send the groomer out Thursday morning after the new 1 inch of snow forecast, arrives.

Monday 7:30 PM

A chilly day today, not too many skiers but lots of customers in the shop, I sold 4 ski packages and a lot of warming accessories such as Toko Mittens and ABR Buffs. I am surprised Angela trusted me at the cabin front desk today. She thought it would be quiet and did her chores off site.

Groomers all slept in today since it was perfect grooming and trail conditions from Sunday. We will sleep in again Tuesday AM with great trail conditions.

Sunday 7 PM

Pig Heart and Crasher groomed all the combination trails with both Pisten Bullies, except the dog trails this morning, Conditions looked great, Widetrack groomed the single tracks except Puumala. All 95 km are skiing well. Kaartunen House just had a cancelation and is open Jand 23-26 4 nights. Jackson Farm House is open Jan 18- Jan 24th and then again Feb 1-6

Saturday 7 PM post SISU

We had the ABR crew out this morning at 4:30 AM tilling up the SISU Trail into town with our Pisten Bullies (and Loader for road crossings.) We worked well with the SISU Ski Fest Team, including Coleman Engineering on the road crossings and the Routsala Construction on stock piling clean snow, Gogebic Community College Ski Area Management director took care of the last 1/2 km rough groomed in (huge snowbanks to a ski trail), and a big thank you to the Miners Park Trail for the prepacking early season.

The course turned out very good. But please remember it is not me doing all the work, or ABR Trails, it is several groups and businesses that contribute to the course preparation.

It was fun to sweep the trail at 2 PM and see the course after 700+ skiers skied it, see the road crossing teams and see the Finnish Line.

It was sad to close up the 5 gates (for now) that link ABR to Ironwood and on to Ramsey. Check out the Non profit Foundation for our future ..

We have a crew regrooming in the early AM Sunday as you would expect. The Bullies are heading out on combination trails and Wide track taking care of single tracks,
