Wednesday 8 PM

Just coming in from a long shift in the Pisten Bully, grooming the SISU Ski Fest Trail. If my tail is dragging I can’t imagine how the PB is feeling, 175 HP Mercedes Diesel working in the cold temps (I put her in the barn for tonight with extra grain)….The race course is coming along super, we are keeping up with the snowfalls and drifting from last night. The trail is wide and hard  and smooth and dry. All 8 groomers are working and ready for the SISU Ski Fest Saturday.

Groomers were out on ABR grooming the single track as well and the classic trails today were very nice.

We will back out in the morning grooming the SISU and the ABR Trails

Tuesday 8 PM

We had a great day of grooming on the SISU course. 3 groomers headed North to groom on ABR and 3 headed 3 south to groom into town. The course is looking nice and flat and hard and white!  I met 12-15 skiers coming back on the Jack Pine Trail, the skiers could not believe how good the glide was for cold snow…..the PB is mixing in the old snow from below with the new cold snow.

Monday 6 PM

No new snow this morning, just an inch from last night. We groomed all the classic only trails this morning at -21 F (skating is not too good at those temps). we also groomed the first 6 km of the SISU course double wide for the skaters wanting to skate a bit. It did warm up to 2 above today and with the sun in really felt good. We did have 20-30 skiers out enjoying the snow.

We are heading back out to regroom the next 36 of the SISU course in the morning. The trails are looking real nice and the SISU course is really shaping up and in great shape for Saturday!

Sunday 6 PM

We received about  4 – 5 inches of snow today and last night. The groomers had 68 k groomed and tracked by 9 AM this morning and skiing was a bit stormy but pretty with the snow on th trees.

We will regroom classic only trails in the AM and we will start to groom the SISU Race course in the sequence that we will be racing next Saturday AM. What this means is that Pit Point and Bachelors loops will be groomed and skied backwards all week. This gives skiers a chance to preview the race course and day skiers a chance to the course as well.

Sunday 5 AM

5 groomers are out working on the 3 inches of new snow, everything shouldbe groomed up by 9 AM
