Spring skiing

It was very good spring skiing today….nice skating in the AM, trails staying firm until about noon; then about an inch of  sinking over a firm base. Classic tracks stayed firm this afternoon but some were icy this early AM.  Make sure to check conditions at trailhead before skiing…conditions change fast and the trail conditions board in the cabin, or  the desk attendant can assist you with conditions at the time you are skiing. No bare spots…2 feet of snow base!

Spring skiing with the Clydesdales

I had a nice ski with the Cldesdales tonight for the last ski of the season with the wednesday night group. The warmer temps are changing the snow from dry powder to corn. This can be a blast to ski with the warm temps. Skate skiers like it in the morning on the fresh hard cord and classic skiers like it in the afternoon as the sun softens the track. All 70 km are open and we have been grooming about 30 km every day so make sure to check in the chalet for the grooming report. We plan to be open through Sunday at 5 PM.

Still perfect!

Skiing today was as good as it gets. We groomed about 35 km this morning, powertilling some and retracking and regrooming skate lanes on other trails. All 68 km are open and skiing fine. 7  more days of skiing at ABR this season.

Some of the best skiing

of the season. Skiers are reporting some of the best days of skiing. Mild temps firm fast and controlable surfaces. We are open one more week Closed April 1st.
